Expectation vs Exploitation
Of the variety of bonds we create with people, the man-woman relationship stands out as being absolutely important and beautiful. This is because we have accepted and brought into our life someone who is too new. Embracing such a new soul in the most deepest way, we are indeed taking a HUGE spiritual step. So, we have to ensure that such a person is always loving and understanding towards us, which is why slightest doubts of being exploited must be nipped off right then through straightforward communication.
Love and understanding can be the only expectations in a relationship. And if those expectations are robbing off your mental peace, then reading further is a must.
Is the so-called genuine need being greed?
If the need is really greed, time you helped your partner understand what is indeed acceptable. Though spiritual folks are ever aware of their need/greed, it is okay for oneself to go off balance to be brought back to sanity by the other.
Is your inability to fulfill a need not understood?
If your personal situations inhibit you from standing beside your partner, then your partner is expected to realize this even before yourself. If that isn't the case, then explicitly tell your partner what is stopping you. True love will accept the truth and your togetherness will be intact.
Are you forced to accept their understanding of a matter?
If your partner thrusts upon you their decisions and takes away from you your experiences, opportunities or even people, then time you assured them that they are always your first priority and that nothing or nobody would ever come in-between. It is not that they are being immature, but somehow feeling insecure. So, reinforce your love and that's enough.
Rooted in the spiritual realm of life, allow no expectation of yours as well transform into mode exploitation. See the other the way you see yourself and wholeheartedly accept them the way they are. This will help you put away any irrational expectations.
